Meet Our Board Members

President: Shannon Daily - Shannon has been a member of CVACTA since 2013.  She has a background in Hunter/Jumper and Equitation, having grown up riding at Level Green Riding School in Powhatan, VA under the tutelage of Pat Betts.  Shannon rode on the AIRC team at Level Green and the IHSA team at the College of William & Mary, and served as President of both teams.  Although she started Eventing about 20 years ago, Shannon was able to fully commit to the sport in 2010 when she took her former partner, Tango, to several USEA recognized events.  Shannon has competed through Training Level with former horses and moved up with her current horse, Oliver, this past season.  Shannon still boards at Level Green and has become their resident Eventer.  When she’s not riding, Shannon loves to travel (especially to France), sing, play the cello, read, and drink good wine.  Shannon finances these interests through her day job, as a corporate bankruptcy attorney.
Vice President: Terry Adcock – Terry has been an avid Foxhunter and Eventer for many years.  She has competed at local and recognized events through Training Level, is a member of Deep Run Hunt Club and is the owner of Oakdale Equestrian Center in Powhatan, VA.  Terry has held the positions of both President &Vice President of CVACTA, and has been instrumental in hosting shows at her farm, and the organization of many of our most popular activities.  Professionally, Terry is in the real estate business with a special interest in equestrian properties.
Secretary: Lindsey Downes – Lindsey had been helping out Judy at the scoring table for some of the CVACTA shows and when a position on the board opened, she jumped!  Lindsey’s riding experience started with her riding hunter/jumpers, then she helped train and re-sell off the track thoroughbreds, was on the IHSA team under the training of Sarah Irvine at James Madison University, then went on to assist at a jumper barn in Chester Springs, PA competing locally and recognized.  She moved to Virginia and rode at Level Green, got introduced to eventing, bought her first horse and moved to Oakdale. Outside of riding Lindsey’s other love is her Golden Retriever Digby!
Treasurer: Judy Lancaster – Judy served most recently as board Secretary, previously held the role of Membership Coordinator and has been a member of CVACTA since 2010.  She has a background in Hunt Seat/Equitation riding and rode on the IHSA team, while attending the former Southern Seminary in Buena Vista, VA.  After graduation, she taught students and trained hunters in North Carolina and Colorado. She is also a certified EAGALA (Equine Assisted Therapy) Equine Specialist. After taking a 16-year hiatus and then purchasing her horse Sallie from Terry Adcock, Judy beganEventing and loves it!  To finance her obsession, Judy works as a corporate legal administrator.

Membership Coordinator: Katie Pinner – Katie has served on the board, sitting on the activities committee since 2015. She began riding at age 8 and grew up riding with Blue Ridge Hunt and North Mountain Pony Clubs, where she developed a love of Eventing.  Katie and her husband moved to their farm in Montpelier in 2008.  Since then, she has developed a love of Connemara ponies and Connemara crosses, while strengthening her skills in Eventing, Dressage and enjoying pleasure riding.

Scores Coordinator: Meghan Fillius – Meghan’s passion for Eventing was born during her first starter trials at the tender age of 10, and continued on through high school and college.  Competitive in Area 1 as a young rider, Meg was also the captain of her high school equestrian team and a member of the University of Richmond Equestrian team, before taking nearly 9 years off from the sport.  When Meg decided to get back into riding, she dragged her non-rider husband Adam along with her.  Meg recently purchased a young Irish Sport Horse and Adam has taken over the reins on her former mount Guinness. In addition to being active in the horse community, Meg is an 11-year veteran, SVU (Special Victims Unit) Detective.

Website/Marketing Coordinator: Jeslyn Vaughan – Jeslyn has been a member of CVACTA since 2015, and began serving on the Board in 2017. She has been riding since she was old enough to sit upright, and has a background in Hunt Seat, Dressage and Jumpers. She also worked as a veterinary technician for close to 4 years, at an equine hospital. Eventing is a newer passion for Jeslyn and last season she successfully introduced her 5-year-old Hanoverian cross,Edgar, to the ropes of Eventing. When not riding, she spends her days working as a Business Development Manager.

Activities Committee Chairman: Jessica Bowen Banks - Jessica has been competing in CVACTA competitions, since its first year. Up until her early twenties she competed in Hunters, Jumpers and Equitation, as well as being an exercise rider for thoroughbreds at local racetracks. About 10 years ago she switched to Eventing and has competed through the Preliminary Level. Jessica owns JPB Equestrian, a facility in Caroline County. She still competes in Hunters, Jumpers, Eventing, Dressage, and regularly Fox Hunts with The Caroline Hunt. She enjoys involving her students and their horses in these adventures.
