Members present were Pat Martin, Charles Wendt, Cindi Highfill, Nicole Smith, Sherri Booye, Cathy Dewsbury and Brenda Simpson. Kelly Wendt also attended.
The Board members met at 6:30PM at Pat Martin’s home. The primary topics of discussion were the awards presentation meeting 02/07/2012 and the horse trial June 2-3,2012. At the awards program we will be taking several items to membership for approval, including the amount to allot for the hunter pace and clinicians. We are asking everyone attending to please bring a dish.
There will be an email sent to membership on volunteer opportunities and requirements to be eligible for dressage awards. Award winners will be added to the website.
Cindi Highfill gave the balance in the treasury as $3158.92. There is approximately $700 in member checks to be added to this figure.
Sherri Booye said we have six new junior members and two family memberships.
Pat Martin passed proposed 2012 budget and calender sheets around. This was discussed and needs to be approved by membership.
The mission statement will be changed on the website to include juniors.
A hunter pace will be in the works August 2012 held jointly with Deep Run hunt club and allowing other hunt clubs to participate.
The board is planning a work day at Foxtale Farm for jump painting, trimming trees around jumps, filling holes, painting flags for jumps, etc. Decisions will be made on who will do various jobs at the combined test and horse trial.
The board would like to have a website person to add pictures to the site and send a monthly update email to all members. The board is also looking for someone to be in charge of a newsletter.
More walkie talkies will be purchased as the number we have is insufficient for the horse trial.
Adult team championship will be Nov 2,3,4th at The Virginia Horse Center in Lexington. We will make a decision on sending a team after the horse trial.
Many of our club members enjoyed “Coffee and Crossrails” and we would like to start that again and a suggestion for a “Prix Caprilli” discussed.
